My love for art grew from a young age. Both of my grandfathers were artists and some say that this is where my ability stems from. My passion for art has driven me to develop my skills myself over the years to the stage that I am at today. I am proud of this self-achievement.
I was born in Whipps Cross London on 8th September 1980. Up until the age of 11yrs I lived in Chingford with my mother older sister and younger brother. I had already started drawing for many years by this point and had already established myself as quite the little artist.
We then moved to Epping Essex, where I attended St Johns Comprehensive School. A typical teenager I was not overly enthusiastic about school and much to my art teachers horror, did not take my ability to seriously. Although I still loved art and drew alot, going out with my friends, getting up to mischief.
I took future studies a bit later on in my life at the age of 23, this was mainly due to health problems preventing me from progressing earlier on. I moved to Chelmsford, Essex and did a Business Management Degree (Hon's). I completed this in 2006.
After this I moved to Brentwood where I was doing retail management, however my love for art was still lingering. Then a bout of i'll health due to arthritic hip meant I had leave my job. It gave my the time to paint and in the first 5 months this is when I created my first Pop Art collection. And since then I havn't stopped.
They say every cloud has a silver lining and although that period in my life was tough, I am pleased that it gave me the opportunity start painting. Being an artist allows me the chance to have a less physically demanding lifestyle that I need and doing something that I absolutely love isn't bad either!
As I mentioned, havnt been painting long, before this I focused on pencil drawings. I now specialise in portraits and love the personal value that comes from being able to give someone a peice of work that is special to them. I find this very rewarding.
I am by nature a very creative person. I also sing professionally as well as write songs. I thrive on creativity and can't help making everything I do that bit different.
As you can see from my Pop Art collection I love to use bright, complimenting colours that lift the spirits. This could be a reflection of my personality as I am a happy person who loves humour. There is also a focused and passionate side to me, that drives me to seeks good design and quality, again influencing my art to be its best.
