First Five Weeks of Foundation

If you’d told me in August how fast the UAL Foundation Art & Design course at Edinburgh College would set off, I wouldn’t have believed you. We’re heading for week six, and I’ve only just been able to draw breath!

We have already covered: tonal drawings; collaging; screen printing; typography; mixed media concertina compositions; and life drawing measuring! Plus, created an A5 postcard on the theme of Borders which has headed to an art college in Paris for a collaborative project. I chose the Berlin Wall for mine. Our next project is on "My Evolving World”.

I’ve also learnt to: annotate my work; examine known artists work; document my research; and evaluate my progress. Most importantly of all, I’ve learnt that the process is more important than the product.

I’m not sure what the next five weeks will bring, but I’m sure I’ll love every minute of it!
